Cimates in Spain

You can use this video in order to study or remember important facts about the differents climates in Spain.

Then, remember to use this chart to study the contents about the climates. You should have it in your notebook.

Do you have any question? Ask me in class.

Weather forecast

How can we predict the weather?

We need to take into account...

  • Cardinal points: North, South, East, West, North-East, Sorth-West, South-East, South-West
  • Moments of the day: morning, afternoon, evening and night.
                           High (+30ºC)
  • Temperatute:  Mild (15-25ºC)    DEGREES
                           Low (-12ºC)
  • Weather: sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy, stormy, rainy, snowy, windy, foggy...

The process of nutrition

The process of nutrition includes the circulatory, excretory, respiratory and digestive system. You can use these videos to study and just for fun!

Digestive System

The digestive system allows our body to get the nutrients we need. Listen to this song and learn about how it works.

Body Systems song

Do you remember this song? It talks about the body systems, you can use it to study and practise.

Unit 1 recap

This recap may help you. Remember to study it!

Natural Science: Unit 5 "Matter and Forces"

FORCES AND MOTION

Forces can PUSH or PULL.

A force is a PUSH or a PULL. Forces make things move, there are many examples of forces and motion in the following song.

Take your notebook and SING!!

What type of FORCES are there?.

Remember there are CONTACT FORCES and NON CONTACT FORCES.

What is a magnet? How does magnetism forces work?

The following funny video can help us to understand this two questions.

Remember that the EARTH IS A GIANT MAGNET. What is GRAVITY?

Check this out!

Out of our planet, in the out space the Earth doesn´t attract or pull things.

Look how is life without gravity. Let´s connect to the ISS (International Space Station)

What is FRICTION?

When you push a ball on the floor, the ball moves for a while and then stops.

FRICTION is the FORCE that slows or stops things when they move on the floor.

Depends on the type of matter, we find more or less FRICTION.

Try this experiment at home using different types of matter.

In which one FRICTION is HIGHER or LOWER?

Natural Science: Unit 5 "Matter and Forces"

What is density?

In science class we study that DENSITY is a property of matter.

DENSITY depends on the MASS and the VOLUME of matter.

Why do things FLOAT or SINK?

The reason because things FLOAT or SINK is DENSITY

-Matters with a HIGHER (big) density will SINK

-Matters with a LOWER (small) density will FLOAT

Now try this video. It will sink or float... and why?

It will sink/float because (metal spoon, plastic spoon, wooden stick, metal coin) density is higher/lower than water density.

Did you try the colour tower at home?

Which liquid has got the HIGHEST density? Which one has got the LOWEST density?

HAVE FUN WITH SCIENCE!!

Natural Sciene: Unit 5 "Matter and Forces"

Physical Changes and Chemical Changes

Matter changes. There are two different types of changes in matter.

Physical Changes

 - Matter changes the state or the shape.

-The type of matter doesn´t change.

      Chemical Changes

-Two different matters react
and create a new type of matter.

Let´s guess if the following examples are physical or chemical changes.

Natural Science: Unit 5 "Matter and Forces"

WHAT IS MATTER?

If we look at this list we can see matter and non matter stuffs.

Why a book is matter? Why air is matter too? Why time is considered a non matter thing?

Social Science Unit 5:"The Romans"

The Romans

The Romans conquered the Iberian Peninsula in the Ancient Age. They also conquered conquered all the Mediterranean Sea.

Romans were great warriors and builders. They built aqueducts, theatres, spas and roads in the Iberian Peninsula.

The Romans spoke latin. Spanish come from latin language.

Social Science: Unit 5 "The Ancient Age"

THE ANCIENT AGE

The Ancient Age began when humans invented the "WRITING"

In the Ancient Age different civilizations came to the Iberian Peninsula.

"PHOENICIANS AND CARTHAGINIANS"

"THE ANCIENT GREEKS"

The Ancient Greeks were polytheistic. They believed in many GODS

Social Science: Unit 4 "The Age of Metals"

THE AGE OF METALS

Around 2000 years b.C humans discovered how to transform minerals into METALS.

In the Age of Metals two different civilizations lived in the Iberian Peninsula.

"CELTS AND IBERIANS"

Social Science: Unit 4 "The Neolithic and the Age of Metals"

THE NEOLITHIC

Around 10.000 years b.C, humans became sedentary. This means that humans lived in the same place and don´t move from one place to another to find food.

In the Neolithic Age:

1)Humans cultivated crops and domesticated animals.

2)We invented pottery to make new tools and ornaments.

3) Humans invented boats.

4) First villages were formed near the rivers.

The following videos can help us to understand the most important changes in the "NEOLITHIC REVOLUTION"

Social Science: Unit 4 "The Paleolithic"

THE PALEOLITHIC

In the Paleolithic prehistoric humans arrived to the Iberian Peninsula

They lived in caves and shelters

They hunted animals and gathered fruits.

Prehistoric humans discovered fire

In the Paleolithic, people moved all the time. They were nomads

They used tools to make clothes, cut meat, hunt or fight against other tribes.

Prehistoric humans painted many caves in the Iberian Peninsula.

The "Altamira Cave" is one of the most famous.

Social Science: Unit 4 "Prehistory"

UNIT 4: PREHISTORY

In this unit we are going to study the HUMAN HISTORY.

The beginning of human history is Prehistory.

Along millions of years prehistoric humans moved around the world and evolucionated

They discovered how to hunt animals, make tools or how to use fire.

Prehistory is divided into three parts: Paleolithic, Neolithic and The Age of Metals.

Natural Science: Plants

NATURAL SCIENCE: UNIT 3 "PLANTS"

Hello to everyone, in this unit we have been learning about....

....PLANTS!!!

Do you know how plants get food and nutrients?

To answer this simple question we studied the PHOTOSYNTHESIS PROCESS.

Remember that a plant is like a chef. Plants make their own food...

...so, what are the ingredients a plant need to cook??

Let´s see a video to understand the PHOTOSYNTHESIS PROCESS!!!

and...how is RESPIRATION IN PLANTS?

During the day PLANTS breath in CARBON DIOXIDE ....

...but at night PLANTS take in OXYGEN...

After that students found out how flowering plants reproduce...

Plants reproduction takes part in FLOWERS,

so we studied the different parts of a flower.

POLLINATION process is very important in plants REPRODUCTION

FINALLY...we classified plants depend on their stem...

Rocks & Minerals

ROCKS AND MINERALS

Hello to everyone! After Christmas holidays we started to study THE GEOSPHERE!!

The GEOSPHERE is the Earth layer made up of rock and minerals.

In class we have studied that scientists divide the GEOSPHERE into three different parts or layers.

What are they?? Let´s find it out watching the following video...

In the following video you will find an idea about how to study the GEOSPHERE layers...

1. THE CORE

2. THE MANTLE

3.THE CRUST

As the GEOSPHERE is made up of rocks we have been observing different rocks and...

...do you know what??

There are different type of rocks and there is a ROCK CYCLE too!!

In the GEOSPHERE...inside rocks...we can find MINERALS...

What are the uses of ROCKS AND MINERALS?

After watching the following video you will see rocks and minerals EVERYWHERE
